An independent observatory for global seismic activity

Quake Pulse was created to make public earthquake observations easier to explore. The site combines live data, an expanding historical catalogue, interactive 3D visualisation, regional pages, event pages, statistics and editorial articles.

Built for context, not alarm

A magnitude alone rarely explains the consequences of an earthquake. Depth, location, local geology, exposure and building vulnerability all matter. Quake Pulse therefore tries to place live events in context rather than presenting every new detection as a dramatic alert.

Multilingual by design

The observatory is available in English, French, Spanish, Italian and German. The goal is not simply to translate interface labels, but to make the explanatory pages and editorial content useful in each language.

Independent from data providers

Quake Pulse is not an official USGS website. It uses public data from the USGS and contributing seismic networks, adds local storage, visualisation, aggregation and editorial explanations, and clearly documents the limits of those transformations.
